Country Connects – Tara Hill

AN EARLY CHRISTMAS WALK ON TARA HILL FOLLOWED BY THE LIGHTING OF THE CHRISTMAS TREE, CAROLS AND A FESTIVE CUPPA

Wexford Walking Trails together with Wexford Country Council, Healthy Wexford and the Irish Farmer’s Association are inviting you to get outdoors and explore some of Wexford’s fabulous country trails. All walks are well established and are fully Sport Ireland accredited trails. This walk is a lovely ramble through the woods on Tara Hill, facilitated by Tara Hill Community Development Association. Strong footwear and waterproofs are recommended.

Starting off from the trailhead sign in St Kevin’s Church Car Park, Tara Hill, we will take in two lovely trails which meander up through Coillte owned forests.  These trails will bring you along atmospheric laneways which open out to reveal wonderful views of nearby mountains and our beautiful coastline.  Stunning views, a wide variety of flora and interesting insights into Tara Hill’s fascinating historical past. 

Facilities are adjacent to carpark and afterwards you are invited to join the Community for Carols, the Lighting of the Tree and some Christmas hospitality!!

  • Bring a fully charged mobile smartphone
  • Wear suitable clothing and comfortable footwear suitable for walking outdoors.
  • Bring water and a snack with you.
