You are perched on a point just over 2 km from Ballygarrett, south of Gorey, looking out over the Irish Sea.   Submerge yourself in the breathtaking 180-degree coastal views.

The Irish Sea, a busy shipping channel, is a forever changing seascape depending on the weather.  If you look closely you will see navigational buoys which guide ships in a safe and deep channel, known as Rusk Channel, as they travel north to Dublin and beyond or south to Rosslare Europort.

Tara Hill and Croghan Mountain are visible looking to north, to your left.  You can also spot the wind turbines on the Arklow Bank.  How many can you see?  The first headland after Tara Hill is Kilmichael Point where Co Wexford and Co Wicklow meet.

Just behind you will see Cahore Castle.   The Castle was designed by English Architect Daniel Robertson.  Those of you interested in history and architecture will know that Mr Robertson also designed Wells House in nearby Ballyedmond.

To the south you will see Old Bawn Beach stretching off into the distance.  This stretch of sand, the sand dunes, the combination of sky, sun and sea will make you marvel at this natural gift right on our doorstep here in Co Wexford.  As you head south along the walk and down the newly constructed  path on to the beach, you can walk for miles in the direction of Morriscastle and down towards Blackwater Head.

Enjoy this special place and remember to go online at wexfordwalkingtrail.ie to discover other wonderful trails in our County.
