Kelly’s Wood Trails
Four kilometres of trails through a tranquil natural oak-dominated wood that leads to an old stone limekiln and icehouse which are the remains of the Tyndall family seat which was destroyed by fire in 1957. Now managed by Coillte, the wood is a good example of wet woodlands which are important for the less conspicuous elements of biodiversity i.e. insects and lichens. Primroses, wood anemone and bluebells can be enjoyed during the Springtime.
