Wexford Walking Trails clg welcomes the recent announcement by Minister Heather Humphreys and the Department of Rural and Community Development, of the approval for inclusion of five of County Wexford’s walking trails in the largest ever expansion of Ireland’s National Walks Scheme. The announcement includes the approval of the appointment of a Rural Recreation Officer (RRO) for County Wexford. The scheme is designed to boost outdoor recreation and rural tourism.
Great credit is due to Wexford Local Development for submitting the application to include Wexford’s walking trails in the National Walks Scheme, and for their co-operation in enabling the appointment of a RRO for County Wexford. Wexford Walking Trails clg wish to acknowledge the assistance of Rory O’Mahony and Wexford County Council for continuously aiming to establish and improve walking trails throughout County Wexford. The inclusion of Wexford’s walking trails in the National Walks Scheme will further enhance the trails included, for the benefit of local communities, businesses, and visitors to the trails.

- Cullentra Trail, Kiltealy
- Ballybrittas Dolmen Trail, Bree
- Mount Nebo Trail, Hollyfort
- Kilanerin, Curragh Wood Loop
- River Walk, Courtown
