Trail Description

 The Ballycrystal Loop located 5km from Kiltelay village is a remote trail under Mount Leinster. A mix of forest road and country lane, this trail takes in panoramic views of the valley and soothing sounds of the Urrin river as it flows down the valley. Follow the signposts from Kiltealy to the trailhead.

Getting Here

As you leave Kiltealy village take the next left turn signposted Ballycrystal (approximately 750m). Continue on this road of 2.4km. Take the left turn signposted Ballycrystal. Continue for 3km until you arrive at the trailhead.

These trails may have some climbs and may have an uneven surface where the going is rough underfoot with some obstacles such as protruding roots, rocks, etc. The routes are appropriate for people with a moderate level of fitness and some walking experience.  Specific outdoor walking footwear and clothing is recommended. Easy
