Heading out of Taghmon Village along quiet country roads, we will arrive at the beautiful meandering trail located in Brownscastle Woods. Our walk will take us us through an established coniferous woodland and along by the River Aughnagroagh, a tributary of the Corock River which begins life up on the Forth Mountain. We will hear the story of St Munna who founded a monastery in Taghmon in about 597. St Munna’s Bed, where he rested during the summer months, is reputed to help with back aches and pains which is something believers still do to this day. There are facilities close by and lots of choices after the walk to enjoy a coffee, snacks or a lovely lunch.
