Country Connects – ENNISCORTHY RIVERSIDE TRAIL
Wexford Walking Trails together with Wexford Country Council, Healthy Wexford and the Irish Farmer’s Association are inviting you to get outdoors and explore some of Wexford’s fabulous country trails. The walks will take place on our established and fully Sport Ireland accredited trails. This month’s walk is along a beautiful river trail but good footwear and waterproofs are required just in case the weather isn’t good!

his trail is a 6 km round trip walk along the western bank of the Slaney River just south of Enniscorthy Town. The trail starts along the promenade walk at the Riverside Park Hotel, crosses a footbridge at the River Urrin and proceeds along the newly opened 600m loop around the river before rejoining the main riverside trail. A level trail which forms part of the Slaney River Valley Special Area of Conservation full of interesting flora and fauna. Tea/coffee can be purchased afterwards at the hotel or the ‘Hatch’.
